Job Description
- Req#: 2572
- Adheres to the processes for receiving, jobs, and picking (e.g. policies, procedures, and work instructions)
- Suggests changes to the warehouse management system (WMS) technology configuration, customizations, and data (e.g. ERP, WarehouseMaster)
- Works with the warehouse 3PL network (e.g. transactions, ERP access, relationships) 1.4 Performs proficiently (e.g. transaction timeliness and accuracy)
- Adheres to the processes for customer, 199-direct, and transfer shipping (e.g. policies, procedures, and work instructions)
- Suggests changes to the transportation management system (TMS) technology configuration, customizations, and data (e.g. ERP, Echo, Cass)
- Works with the warehouse 3PL and carrier network (e.g. transactions, ERP access, Echo integration, relationships)
- Achieves on-time delivery (OTD) targets by meeting agreed upon service levels
- Adheres to the process for the timely freight payment processing
- Formulates improvement ideas and/or suggestions
- Participates as appropriate on other teams / projects
- Strives for professional interactions with internal & external customers
- Strives for professional interactions with internal & external suppliers
- Provides ample notice for planned and unplanned absences to Manager
- Provides backup to other Logistics Specialists as requested
- Provides support to team members in need
- Utilizes MHQ for published supply chain resources
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning by building skills, earning credentials, and increasing responsibilities
- Associate degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years related experience
- Basic understanding of distribution business, the order-to-cash process and/or the procure-to-pay process
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing fast paced environment and consistently meet tight timelines
- Strong computer knowledge base with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with ERP or logistics system(s)
- Strong interpersonal skills, requires regular interaction between various depts. and outside vendors
- Ability to improve processes and problem solve: define, measure, analyze, improve, and control
- Typically working in a general office environment and/or home office
- Limited overnight travel
- Occasional visits to industrial areas that may involve exposure to heat, noise, and large industrial equipment

Summary
The Logistics Specialist role is responsible for completing warehouse and carrier transactions, working with warehouse 3rd party logistics (3PL) providers, collaborating with others internally, supporting peers, and developing themselves to meet the overall objective of providing targeted on-time delivery service levels to our customers by working with the warehouses and carriers to perform timely, accurate transactions.
