- Manage sales, marketing, and promotion of lottery tickets
- Travel to retail outlets in your assigned territory to distribute lottery tickets and point-of-sale promotional materials
- Establish and develop sales promotions at retail outlets
- Maintain security of lottery tickets at all times and explain proper handling of lottery tickets to real outlets to ensure secure selling environments at each retail location
- Analyze retailer data to optimize the promotion and sale of lottery tickets
- This representative will need to live in either Scott or Clinton county in Iowa
- Previous experience making sales calls to retailers
- Experience recruiting new customers
- Ability to work with time constraints and deadlines
- Sales and Marketing – Principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Customer Service - Principles and processes for providing customer services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction
- English Language - the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar
- Basic Arithmetic - Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

The Iowa Department of Revenue’s Lottery Division is currently seeking a District Sales Representative that will join Region 2. The Lottery Division provides responsible entertainment and prizes to the public, generating revenue for state programs, including support for veterans, economic development, law enforcement, education and agriculture.In this position you will act as a representative of the State of Iowa Lottery performing the following duties:

One year of full-time work experience in product sales/promotion as a manufacturer's representative or route sales person, including the servicing of existing customers or the direct solicitation of potential customers for the purpose of convincing them to purchase the product or service (e.g., consumer products, business products, equipment, or services). Retail sales experience in a grocery, convenience or department store, restaurant, or other enterprise is not considered as qualifying experience.
