Position Overview
Do you have a background in telemarketing, sales, and customer service? The Illinois Lottery is seeking to hire a Telemarketing Representative with the Sales Division. The individual in this position will work as a team member, providing customer service, guidance, and direction to Lottery retailers to ensure they receive information regarding instant ticket games, prizes and orders. Job Responsibilities
1. Via telephone, maintains regular contact with agents to solicit instant ticket orders and to forecast and fill product needs.
2. Maintains Retailer Hotline Instant Ticket Ordering system files.
3. Interprets and applies the laws, rules, regulations, and policies of the Illinois State Lottery.
4. Analyzes individual retailer's accounting and operational needs and provides recommended solutions.
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
Minimum Requirements
1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school.
2. Requires one (1) year of clerical experience, in an office setting, or two (2) years of telemarketing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Requires extensive knowledge of telemarketing functions.
2. Requires extensive knowledge of general business practices and retail operations.
3. Prefers experience diplomatically communicating with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures.
4. Requires ability to use the computer systems, software, hardware, or other automated equipment utilized in agency operations.
5. Requires ability to prioritize assignments and meet critical deadlines.
6. Requires ability to interpret the state Lottery laws, rules and regulations.
7. Requires ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in resolving problem matters.
8. Requires ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public and agency personnel.
9. Prefers the ability to analyze and identify problems in retailer's accounts and operations, and to determine appropriate solutions.
10. Prefers the ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires the ability to pass a criminal background check.
2. Requires the ability to work from home, in a quiet environment with internet connection.
3. Requires the ability to utilize state issued equipment.
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; M-F
