Job Description

- Follows all breakage, waste, and spillage procedures.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of equipment use and ensuring constant maintenance and upkeep of items.
- Always maintain positive internal and external guests’ relations.
- Takes pride in personal appearance and follows site grooming guidelines and dress code.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. Asks for management assistance where necessary.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, and organization of assigned work area.
- Be familiar with all the site services/features and respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Maintain complete knowledge of sections and table numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the lounge.
- Maintain a knowledge of all liquor brands.
- Working knowledge of the food menu including sides, add0ons, and how to change accordingly.
- Able to discern appropriate wait times for food delivery.
- Complete opening side duties as assigned:
- Set up proper service prep for workstation.
- Check cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
- Keep lounge well stocked for current and following day’s service.
- Maintain positive and professional guest interactions both behind the bar and on the service floor.
- Proactive in prevention of complaints and ensuring guests satisfaction in all areas of the outlet. If areas need help, assist, and inform manager.
- Assists and helps tend bar and prepares as directed by manager. Drinks for customers as per standard recipes during elevated business times.
- Present accurate guest checks and process payments.
- Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
- Complete closing side duties: Properly breakdown and store all reusable goods.
- Clean all equipment. Restock items for next service.
- Report to supervisor before leaving the floor.
- Cleans and sets dining room tables and fills beverage, salt, sugar, and other condiment containers.
- Cleans and maintains supplies such as dishes and utensils, rollups.
- Mop and sweep floors/ use of floor scrubber.
- Take food orders / serve food orders.
- Be able to multitask with various priorities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Minimum 1 year experience of serving in a high-volume restaurant, lounge, or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent data.
- Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems and card payment processing is required.
- Excellent knowledge of beverage preparation of classic cocktails, mixed drinks, beer, wines & spirits. food & beverage menus.
- Serving It Right Certification or Inter-provincial equivalent.
- Food Safe Level 1
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
- Must undergo and pass a Drug & Alcohol test prior to starting work.
