      Job Description:

Join Intel and build a better tomorrow!

Intel is in the midst of an exciting transformation, with a vision to create and extend computing technology to connect and enrich the lives of every person on Earth. So join us and help us create the next generation of technologies that will shape the future for decades to come.

At Intel we have continued to push Moore's law to be world leaders in computing technology for decades. To achieve the necessary scaling of our semiconductor manufacturing process, we have included multiple key innovations. This includes transistor channel strain, high-k metal gate, Fin-FETs and low-k ILD. As we develop our future technology nodes more innovations are needed and integrating these innovations to our process from early proof-of-concept to working on billions of transistors per chip is an exciting and challenging process that takes a team of driven and talented engineers.

Yield Analysis plays a key role in this work. Our job is to understand where our manufacturing process needs to be fixed. Your job will be to utilize state-of-the-art instruments to detect process issues and understand what issues cause our chips to fail. This process requires instrument development / optimization, defect root causing, data analysis, use of our fault isolation and TEM imaging labs, understanding of the fabrication process, understanding design principles and synthesis of information from multiple sources.

In this role you will be supported by our state-of-the-art fabs and labs, world class data analysis tools and partners from multiple teams within Intel. These teams include members various disciplines: fab tool owners, process integrators, fault isolation, TEM analysis, device engineers and designers. Finally, once you understand the root cause of the issue you need to be able to clearly communicate your findings to our partner teams so that process fixes can be worked on.

We are looking for engineers who love solving technical problems, are driven to achieve results and are flexible to adapt to new methods, tools and fields of study depending on what is needed to solve the problem at hand. You will have access to extremely large datasets and potential to become subject matter expert in one of many available areas. You will be joining a team of talented engineers with opportunity for rapid learning/growth. Within our organization we have multiple roles based on your skills and inclination:

      • Providing high level understanding of all issues related to yield using a variety of software and engineering analysis packages.
      • Developing and evaluating instruments
      • Analyzing experimental results
      • Analyzing a baseline of Si wafers for new issues, identifying systematic process interactions
      • Automating our work by scripting/programming
      • Setting goals and milestones for our yield roadmap.
      • Synthesizing our overall understanding to a pareto and priority of issues for our fab partners to fix

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.
