      Job Description:

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at The Family Place, you won’t just be providing clinical care; you’ll be helping survivors of domestic violence reclaim their health, safety, and independence. This is more than a job; it’s a calling to serve those who need compassionate, trauma-informed care the most.

Working within our nonprofit clinic, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals and families on their journey toward healing. Your presence will bring comfort, your skills will bring relief, and your care will help shape brighter futures.

      Responsibilities:

      1. Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to victims of domestic violence and their children, including conducting health assessments, administering medications, dressing wounds, and providing health education.

      2. Pediatric Care : Deliver age-appropriate healthcare services to children affected by domestic violence, including monitoring growth and development, administering vaccines, and assessing common childhood illnesses.

      3. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans based on the unique needs of victims and their children. Ensure a holistic approach to healthcare that addresses physical and emotional well-being.

      4. Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records, documenting patient assessments, care provided, and response to treatment. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols for record-keeping.

      5. Supportive Services: Work closely with counselors, social workers, and other support staff to provide comprehensive care to patients and their children. Coordinate referrals to external resources such as counseling services and community healthcare partners as necessary.

      6. Patient Education: Educate patients and their children on self-care techniques, medication administration, and strategies for managing their health conditions. Provide guidance on domestic violence prevention, safety planning, and available resources.

      7. Clinic Support: Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment. Help with inventory management, medical equipment sterilization, and supply ordering as needed.

      8. Collaboration: Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, counselors, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
