      POSITION SUMMARY:

      Administers nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LVN performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties.

      The Emergency Department LVN must be competent to provide care to patients in the following age groups: infant, toddler, pre-school child, and school-age, teenage, adult, senior, and geriatric. The LVN must be able to assess developmental needs across the life span and be able to adjust care accordingly to meet patient's physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.

      REQUIREMENTS:

      Graduated from a vocational/technical school. Possesses a current CA Vocational Nurse license. Maintains a current IV Certification from California Consumer Affairs Board of Vocational Nursing. Possesses current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS/Stroke Scale Certifications required prior to start. Prefer 1-year acute care experience in an Emergency Department within the last 18 months. Successfully completes annual unit-based competencies, including Management of Assaultive Behavior.

      • Estimated pay is based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).
