- Work with the BDO Mergers and Acquisitions team and Deal Origination teams to co-ordinate, develop and implement the national business development plan. This will include identifying and qualifying leads and researching contacts for regional, sector and Deal Origination teams to pursue, and maintaining the business development and CRM database.
- Deal with basic research enquiries using a range of business and financial information sources, such as the internet, press searches and commercial databases.
- Provide information to the team on financial position, market position, structure, competitors, and key management issues for the production of in-depth company analyses.
- Research and produce company briefing notes, credential information and sector-specific marketing collateral to assist the team in securing and conducting initial meetings.
- Undertake research projects encompassing support for: mergers and acquisitions, private equity team, marketing reports and new business development.
- Coordinate and tracking business development campaigns.
- Degree graduate or would suit undergraduate looking for third year in industry - A level candidate with 120 UCAS points (B,B,B).
- Experience of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint."
- Experience of research tools e.g. Onesource, Corpfin, BvD databases and a range of Thomson Financial Products.

You’ll be a M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) Research Assistant assisting in the delivery of business development campaigns and providing focussed desktop research of public record information as asked for by senior members of the national corporate finance team. As a Research Assistant, you’ll be expected to gain experience and understanding of the field of corporate finance and delivering business development campaigns.
You’ll work alongside the BDO Mergers and Acquisitions team in order to understand the aims and activities of the team in order to better identify suitable businesses to contact.
