Participate in cutting-edge research in machine learning and methods development with applications to drug discovery.
Build tools that enable large scale ML experiments
Solve core engineering challenges including the design, implementation, and scaling of our machine learning algorithms.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across both Prescient Design and gRED to solve complex problems in the life sciences.
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Mathematics, Applied Stats, Machine Learning or similar experience working in industry
Experience implementing large scale deep learning models.
Experience with PyTorch in a production setting.
Excellent programming skills.
Intense curiosity about molecular design and eagerness to contribute to scientific and computational efforts.
The Position
Prescient Design is developing cutting-edge machine learning for drug discovery, building new methods, techniques, and systems to fundamentally transform how drugs are designed.
The Engineering group within Prescient is looking for solid engineering skills and experience building and improving large scale distributed machine learning systems, and contributing to the science behind the models.
We know engineering plays a key role in ML advances, and we require engineers who want to build the high quality research tools and frameworks to increase the research productivity across Prescient Design. As a machine learning engineer, you will help develop and productionalize algorithms, contribute to cutting-edge research and will play a key role in Prescient Design’s success.
The group provides a dynamic and challenging environment for cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research including access to heterogeneous data sources, close links to top academic institutions around the world, as well as internal Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) partners and research units.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of New York City is $137,400 and $255,200 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
