Job Description

- Perform routine setup, operation, and adjustment of equipment to produce product by standardized work.
- Load, remove and replenish parts and/or materials info machines or after cycles as required by standardized work.
- Accurately and efficiently perform steps necessary to conduct changeovers.
- Monitor routine operation of equipment and make minor adjustments as necessary to produce quality products in a safe, efficient, and standardized manner.
- Hang and/or remove shells, flues, heads, jackets or other parts on hangers or as required by work instruction.
- Use various hand tools (impact wrenches, band cutters, etc.) to complete job requirements.
- Perform leak tests on units using water and/or air.
- Perform visual quality checks and examine product for defects.
- Record all data and fill out paperwork related to production activity as required (ASME, production logs, quality logs, etc.)
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition and follow prescribed safety and quality rules, procedures, and requirements.
- Follow detailed machine and work instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Report problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment and materials to production Lead or Supervisor.
- Wear required PPE.
- Drive and become certified to drive a fork truck
- Perform other duties and operate machinery as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Ability to regularly lift 40 – 50 pounds throughout shift.
- Willingness to learn new tasks, cross-train, rotate and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work safely in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, dust, sparks, etc.
- Willingness to train other operators, or to train as a back-up, for other team members to cover absenteeism, vacations and mandatory rotations or responsibility.
- Willingness to work overtime as required depending on business need.
- Strong analytical skills to aid in problem solving.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous manufacturing experience a strong plus.
- Ability to read (or be trained to read) and understand Bills of Material, drawings and measuring tools.
- Possess the knowledge and skill (or be trained) to operate all required machines.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistance
