- Set up, run, shut down, troubleshoot, clean, and perform general maintenance on machines.
- Understand, follow, and apply information from the Run Instruction Sheet.
- Take regular and proper samples and systematically probe boxes as directed by RIS. Report inequities to lab personnel and supervisor.
- Complete the Run Number Time Log at the end of each shift and update RIS as needed, passing information to the supervisor timely.
- Properly complete logs for production ledgers (inbound, outbound, rejects, and run) and quality control.
- Compute weights using correct gross, tare, and net figures, and record them appropriately.
- Assist with training new associates.
- Load and unload material and place it into inventory locations using forklift or pallet jack.
- Compute pounds per hour processed during the run and document run conditions and productivity standards.
- Prepare boxes for material by placing labels correctly and removing extra labels.
- Participate in shift meetings and training sessions.
- Machine Operating experience, 1+ years minimum
- Good handwriting for record-keeping.
- Experience troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Sit down forklift experience.
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift outside of breaks.
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs, not repetitively.
- Comfort with heights, willing to use aerial lift as needed.
- Steel-toed or composite-toed shoes.
- 1st shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday-Friday($19)
- 2nd shift: 3:30pm - 12am Monday-Friday($21)

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and productive operation of various machines, including Granulator, Shredder, Color System, Wet Sorter System, and Extruder. This role involves material handling and ensuring the production of high-quality products.

Work Environment
This role is in a traditional manufacturing environment with large machines performing tasks related to plastics recycling. The facility is dusty and noisy, requiring hearing and eye protection. Employees must be prepared to climb stairs or use an aerial lift for troubleshooting or fixing jams. The environment is hot in summer and comfortable in winter. Dock workers primarily load and unload trucks along the facility's outer wall. Adherence to the dress code is essential to ensure safety, including wearing non-baggy clothing, steel or composite toe shoes, and securing long hair. Personal hygiene is expected, and cell phones or smart watches are prohibited on the production floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of the Park 100 area in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
