      Job Title: Machine Operator Slitter Technician


      Job Description

      We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator Slitter Technician to join our team. You will initially train on the 1st shift, with hours from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday, and 6:00 am to 10:00 am on Fridays. The regular working hours for this position are from 3:00 pm to 1:00 am Monday through Thursday.

      Responsibilities

      • Set up and operate converting equipment such as TARP machines, Slitter machines, and other converting machinery.
      • Convert foam and rubber spools of material using a slitter machine.
      • Apply PSA, slit material to width, and prepare material for use in additional machine centers.
      • Load and unload material using a hand-operated loader.
      • Set up machine with proper PSA, heat settings, and roller pressure to ensure proper PSA application.
      • Adjust slitting blades to proper widths using a tape measure or micrometer.
      • Perform other machine operations as directed by the supervisor.

      Essential Skills

      • 2-5 years of machine operation experience.
      • Prior material converting experience, preferably 2+ years.
      • Ability to set up machines and use a tape measure.
      • Proficiency with converting equipment such as TARP machines, Slitter machines, and micrometers.
      • Good math skills with the ability to use both metric and standard dimensions.
      • Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter attitude.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience with Converting Equipment.
      • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
      • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
      • Strong attention to detail.
      • Ability to follow written and verbal communication accurately.
      • Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs and team lift 50+ lbs.
      • Good attendance history.

      Work Environment

      You will work in a well-lit, clean shop environment that is not temperature controlled. Fans are used in the facility during the summer months. We operate on two shifts: 1st shift from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 6:00 am to 10:00 am on Fridays, and 2nd shift from 3:00 pm to 1:00 am Monday through Thursday.

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, Illinois.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
