      Machine Vision Programer

      Based in Minnesota, Sensors Inc (a Tavoron company) is a distributor and national integrator of industrial sensors, barcode scanners, and machine vision systems.       Summary: This role is responsible for working with manufacturing customers to implement new vision systems as well as support existing systems. Specifically, the Machine Vision Programmer/Engineer develops software and systems that enable machines—like robots, cameras, or automated inspection tools—to "see" and understand visual information, usually in industrial or manufacturing settings. To be successful in this role, you will need a strong technical aptitude to learn, understand and develop expert working knowledge of our sensor products and vision system solutions.

      Responsibilities:

      • Assist internal sales team and external customers with machine vision camera selection and system design.
      • Learn and apply machine vision optics and lighting.
      • Learn and apply how our products are utilized through lab evaluations, field experiences and factory training sessions as well as weekly online training sessions.
      • Partner with customer onsite, interact with client point of contact, and do a full system deployment/implementation.
      • Write machine vision software code to capture, process, and analyze images or video streams.
      • Ensure system works in real-world conditions (adjust lighting, tuning parameters for speed and accuracy, debug and performance profiling.
      • Create or fine-tune algorithms that help a system make decisions based on what it “sees.”
      • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, robotics teams, or automation specialists to make sure the entire system runs smoothly.
      • Work with various types of industrial cameras and sensors (2D, 3D, infrared, SWIR etc.) and integrate them into machines or software.
      • Monitor and improve process performance of installed vision systems.

      Education/Experience:

      • 4 year technical degree required.
      • 1 year minimum of dedicated Machine Vision Experience
      • 3+ years of technical experience preferred.
      • Cognex In-Sight Explorer, In-Sight Suite, VisionPro, LMI/Photoneo 3D, DataSensing software programming experience preferred.
      • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
      • Demonstrated strong sense of urgency and prioritization skills on a daily basis.
      • Innate drive and passion to create solutions for customer applications.
      • Willingness and ability to travel 25% or more.
      • Strong engineering skills are required to assist on customer projects from conception to evaluation, to system implementation, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
      • Ability to work well on a team towards the common goal of customer satisfaction.
