Job Description

- Sets up and operates a wide variety of unrelated machines with little direction.
- Operate machining area equipment including, but not limited to, lathes, VMC and drill presses.
- Plans and performs operations on machined parts.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, route sheets, and work sheets to make set-ups with speeds and feeds usually prescribed.
- Make own set-ups where no previous set-up has been made.
- Obtains tooling and mounts tools for work.
- Troubleshoot machining problems.
- Provide assistance to other departmental personnel for the resolution of method, technical and quality problems.
- Develops fixtures and jigs to ensure proper machining of parts.
- Assists with programming, performs basic programming.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machines where applicable.
- Actively participates in company initiatives such as process improvements, achieve and understand your impact on the company KPI’s, cost savings, 5S etc.
- Flexible, performs other duties as assigned.
- High school education, Associates Degree in related field preferred.
- At least two years direct CNC/machining experience.
- Follow blueprints and other written and verbal specifications
- Work independently or in a team setting
- Exercise ingenuity to solve problems without extensive supervision
- Perform the job functions under broad supervision
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Complete each job thoroughly and correctly
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
