Operate CNC Laser Cutting, Trimming, and Drilling machines
Follow all applicable policies and procedures and ensure safety rules are observed
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, metatarsal safety shoes, etc.) as required
Required to work overtime schedule as requested to meet production needs based on established overtime procedures
Use precision measuring devices to effectively machine parts
Deburr parts
Participate in problem solving, continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback in areas of People, Quality, Velocity and Cost
Use blueprints, gauges, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications
Use and on for identification of variance from standard work
Be available to assist in other areas as needed
Participate in activities and exercises in support of the Caterpillar Production System (CPS) – 5S, RIWs, etc.
Operate machinist tools including CNC machines
Trade School Certificate, Associates Degree in Machine Technology, or High School Diploma/GED equivalent and minimum 2 years experience in setting up and operating CNC machines
Knowledge of how to set and use gauges such as calipers, bore micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints for datum lines and tolerances
Ability to interpret GD&T
Understand and use of measuring devices
Use of advance shop math
Ability to work overtime as needed
Willing to work any shift
Previous experience with setup, operation, and tear down of Laser Cutting and Drilling machines
Previous Machinist experience
Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
