  Job Description:

  • Operate CNC Laser Cutting, Trimming, and Drilling machines

  • Follow all applicable policies and procedures and ensure safety rules are observed

  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, metatarsal safety shoes, etc.) as required

  • Required to work overtime schedule as requested to meet production needs based on established overtime procedures

  • Use precision measuring devices to effectively machine parts

  • Deburr parts

  • Participate in problem solving, continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback in areas of People, Quality, Velocity and Cost

  • Use blueprints, gauges, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications

  • Use and on for identification of variance from standard work

  • Be available to assist in other areas as needed

  • Participate in activities and exercises in support of the Caterpillar Production System (CPS) – 5S, RIWs, etc.

  Required Qualifications:

  • Operate machinist tools including CNC machines

  • Trade School Certificate, Associates Degree in Machine Technology, or High School Diploma/GED equivalent and minimum 2 years experience in setting up and operating CNC machines

  • Knowledge of how to set and use gauges such as calipers, bore micrometers, dial indicators, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for datum lines and tolerances

  • Ability to interpret GD&T

  • Understand and use of measuring devices

  • Use of advance shop math

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Willing to work any shift

  Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with setup, operation, and tear down of Laser Cutting and Drilling machines

  • Previous Machinist experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written

  Compensation & Benefits

  Base rate for this role ranges from $16.30, to $37.43. Actual rate will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:
