This is responsible judicial work in the issuance and recording of arrest warrants, complaints, and affidavits, in granting bail, and in receiving guilty pleas on minor misdemeanor cases as mandated by applicable law.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, preferably completion of a paralegal program, and a minimum of three years' responsible court clerical or criminal justice administration experience; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must become certified as a Magistrate/Court Clerk by the Alabama Administrative Office of the Courts within two years of employment as a Magistrate I and must attend annual maintenance courses to maintain certification.All applications must be submitted online through the Mobile County Personnel Board Job Opportunities page.
