Job Description
- Req#: 1019
- Greet faculty, staff and students in a courteous and cordial manner to ensure a positive welcoming impression
- Receive, scan, and sort all incoming USPS and external carrier mail and packages for the campus community
- Deliver mail and packages to college departments in accordance with instructions regarding assigned buildings
- Deliver mail and packages to student locker banks through basic use of package tracking software (WTS) and locker systems with integrated technology
- Assign mailboxes to freshman and transfer students; enter into the Admission student database the mailbox number assigned to first year and transfer students and delete mailbox numbers from departing students
- Operate Mail Services vehicle to travel around campus, to post office or FedEx locations
- Maintain cleanliness of Mail Services vehicles
- Perform other duties as assigned to accomplish the department's mission
- Employment is contingent on the verification of background information submitted by applicant, including the completion of a criminal background check and clearances
- High-school diploma or equivalency
- At least 6 months experience in a mailroom – preference for a college or university environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- In-depth knowledge of both USPS procedures and third-party carrier procedures, including hazardous mail protocol
- Ability to perform timely and accurate processing of student and departmental mail
- Proficiency using computers, including database systems, spreadsheets, and email
- Proficiency entering, and maintaining information in written and/or electronic form
- Proficiency using mobile phones and/or other mobile barcode scanning technology
- Possession of a valid driver license
- Availability and willingness to work overtime when required
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position’s duties with or without reasonable accommodation: Lift, carry, walk, push, bend, and reach; to stand for prolonged periods; and to handle and lift heavy containers and parcels weighing up to 50 pounds

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the College’s business needs and external factors.Benefits:
