      Job Summary

      We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic candidates to work in weekly rotative shifts as a Batch Operator within one of our main clients and support the team as a specialist able to support the Batch Production, Testing and Scheduling Teams, on a 24*7 basis.

      Responsibilities

      • Monitor mainframe and distributed environment batch processes in real-time and on a shift basis, using tools such as Control-M Enterprise Manager V9, TSO, ISPF, ServiceNow (SNOW), etc.
      • Manage incidents and analyse problems in a complex, multi-tiered environment with remote installations.
      • Utilize Job Control Language (JCL) knowledge to resolve batch job issues independently.
      • Respond to alerts and follow standard procedures for escalations.
      • Coordinate problem resolution efforts.
      • Support ITIL Request Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Continual Service Improvement activities and processes.
      • Represent Cognizant professionally before clients and stakeholders.
      • Adhere to Cognizant's corporate processes, including timesheet reporting, mandatory training, compliance processes, performance documentation, goal setting, etc.
      • Actively pursue learning objectives, enrol in training and courses, and complete them within or outside of working hours as required.

      Skills & Experience

      Must haves:

      • Relevant experience in Control-M Monitoring and Scheduling within both Distributed Systems and Mainframe environments, including JCL handling.
      • Familiarity with ITIL concepts for Incident and Problem management processes.
      • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and resolve incidents in a complex, multi-tiered environment.
      • Previous experience in a support role, preferably within the banking sector or a related industry.
      • Superior written and oral English communication skills, with the capacity to professionally represent Cognizant before clients and stakeholders.
      • Demonstrated ability to multitask, coordinating various tasks and problem resolution efforts within a shift-based working schedule.
      • High level of adaptability and flexibility, essential for providing rotational shifts and 24x7 support.

      Nice to have:

      • 2-5 years experience in similar system controlling positions, preferably within the banking sector or a related field, including knowledge in the following technologies: Z/OS; JES2/JES3; IMS; TSO; ISPF; DB2
      • Storage Management
      • ServiceNow
      • Experience working with Microsoft 365.
      • ITIL Certification.
      • Experience with SQL and Shell Scripting.
      • Experience with automation tools such as Ayehu, Ansible, Automation Anywhere, Splunk Phantom, or similar tools.
      • Advanced technical skills, such as proficiency in additional programming languages or software tools.

      Qualification & Certificates:

      • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or equivalent.
