- Collaboration: Working with systems analysts, other developers, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and reliability.
- Documentation: Maintaining application and programming documentation.
- Troubleshooting: Responding to troubleshooting requests and resolving issues related to mainframe applications.
- Staying Updated: Keeping up-to-date with system updates and new technologies.
- Client Interaction: Interacting with clients to gather requirements and provide project status updates.
- Mentorship: Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Assembler Language: Deep understanding and extensive experience in mainframe Assembler programming.
- Mainframe Technologies: Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and other mainframe technologies.
- z/OS: Working knowledge of the z/OS operating system.
- Debugging Tools: Experience with mainframe debugging tools like IPCS, XDC, and FILEAID.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills for debugging and performance tuning.
- Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile framework.
- Additional Skills (depending on the role): Experience with modernization projects.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies.
