The Mainframe Modernization Platform Senior Advisor will design, develop and implement solutions that support our mainframe modernization and software engineering transformation. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for solving complex technical issues, establishing patterns and practices, and setting standards for modernization of the legacy mainframe environment using AWS Mainframe Modernization.The Mainframe Modernization Platform Senior Advisor will help- Assist with proof of production technology analysis and pilots- Create internal presentations/training to peer groups- Build environments using Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform- Create and support application deployment pipelines- Execute data migrations- Monitor & support environments including Java, Micro Focus, and Db2 LUW- Execute patching & mitigate vulnerabilities- Execute platform disaster recovery processes- Assist with changes on the platform and in CMDB- Execute identity and access management changes in AWS accounts and Micro Focus environments.- Help application development teams migrate to the AWS platform- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, trends, and best practices- Support the delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to performance specificationsEducation and Experience:- Knowledge of Micro Focus Enterprise Products- Knowledge of AWS (hands-on experience with IAM, VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda)- Working experience with DevOps methodologies, automation, and deploying infrastructure as code.- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines- Must be hands-on, and take proactive ownership of projectsPreferred Qualifications- 2+ years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining Micro Focus solutions or Java solutions- 1+ years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS-based solutions- Experience working in an Agile environment- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation- Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancers- Demonstrated experience recognizing, mitigating and resolving technical risks- Demonstrated experience in a DevOps environment, using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) principles to accomplish objectives- Knowledge and experience with a broad range of programming languages (e.g., COBOL, Java, SQL, Python)- Knowledge and experience with the application, configuration, and administration of technologies critical to delivering functionality per specifications/requirements- An associate level AWS Cloud Certification is desired (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator)
