Job Description

- Maintain, upgrade, monitor, and report on all IBM iSeries systems and HMC infrastructure, including PTFs and firmware upgrades, errors, failures, and security aspects.
- Manage system backups and Replication/DR processes, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Research and resolve system issues as needed, providing technical support to users and other stakeholders.
- Install and configure AS400 software applications, including third-party software and system management tools.
- Engage with third-party vendors and support teams as necessary to resolve issues and improve system performance.
- Assist with client emulation configuration and connectivity.
- Manage AS400 user and device configuration, ensuring compliance with security policies.
- Develop, maintain, and execute disaster recovery protocols and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans.
- Monitor system performance, utilizing tools like Performance Navigator or IBM Navigator to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
- Maintain system documentation, including configuration settings and changes, to support audits and reviews.
- Provide operational, status, and other reports as requested.
- Assist in migration efforts to modernize legacy applications.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a related role.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with staff, business, technical resources, and support vendors.
- Experience with COBOL programming and AS400 Administration.
- Familiarity with Go Anywhere Integration, ODBC, SFTP, FTP, Mocha, Rumba, Blue Zone emulation software, and HIS systems.
- Expertise in database management and recovery processes (DB2, SQL, SQL/DS, VSAM databases).
- Proficiency with IBM OS utilities, MVS JCL, VSE JCL, Easytrieve Plus, and Message Log (MLOG).
- Experience with tools like XL Print Paris, Visio, MS Office, Teams, and Jira.

Duration: 12-month Renewable Contract
Hours: 35 hours work per week
Overview:
Client is seeking a skilled professional to manage, administer, and provide ongoing support for IBM iSeries Power 9’s/AS400 systems. Experience in supporting IBM Mainframe systems is considered a valuable addition.

The ETSS core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:00 PM, with occasional after-hours support required. The position is based in the Cranston/Warwick, RI area, with a potential for a hybrid work schedule allowing up to two remote days per week. Onsite presence is required, and travel between local sites and potentially to a hot site center in the NJ/PA area may be necessary.
Must pass a fingerprint-based background check.
