      Mainframe Tester

      Job description:

      • Proven experience as a QA Lead or similar role, preferably in a Mainframe development environment.
      • Knowledge of Mainframe technology, including COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, and related tools.
      • Experience in distributed testing, including testing web-based applications and APIs.
      • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
      • Proficient in test planning, test case design, test execution, and defect management.
      • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex issues.
      • Experience with test management tools Zypher and defect tracking systems.

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead and manage the onshore QA team, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
      • Develop and execute the overall QA strategy, test plans, and test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
      • Coordinate with the customer's project manager, business analysts, and development team to understand project requirements and priorities.
      • Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure seamless integration and coordination of testing efforts.
      • Conduct test planning, estimation, and resource allocation to ensure timely and efficient delivery of QA activities.
      • Design, develop, and maintain test scripts and test data to support functional, integration, and regression testing.
      • Execute and oversee test execution, log defects, and track defect resolution to ensure high-quality deliverables.
      • Monitor test progress, provide regular status reports, and communicate any issues or risks to project stakeholders.
      • Conduct root cause analysis for defects and work with the development team to ensure proper resolution.
      • Implement and enforce QA best practices, standards, and processes to improve overall product quality
