- Assist with painting interior and exterior areas of the hotel using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Support surface preparation by washing, scraping, sanding, or sandblasting as directed.
- Help with detailed painting tasks such as cutting in, spot priming, and rolling walls and trim.
- Assist in caulking, filling, sanding trim, patching drywall, and applying various finishes.
- Mix and match paints, stains, lacquers, enamels, and protective coatings under supervision.
- Identify and report deficiencies in drywall, flooring, fixtures, and other surfaces; assist in minor repairs.
- Support general upkeep and preventative maintenance efforts as needed.
- Complete assigned tasks and work orders efficiently and with attention to detail.
- Maintain and organize painting materials, tools, and supplies.
- Keep workspaces and supply areas clean and well-stocked.
- Work closely with the Engineering team and other departments on maintenance projects and renovations.
- Communicate effectively to support a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Respond to maintenance-related requests from guests and staff in a professional and timely manner.
- Contribute to a positive guest experience by ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Follow all safety protocols, hotel policies, and company procedures.
- Support the hotel’s Health & Safety and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to aid in the daily operations of the Engineering team.
- Recent years of professional painting experience, including wallpapering, drywall patching, and repairs
- Proven ability to lead by example and uphold consistently high performance standards. Self-starter with strong initiative, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly responsible, dependable, and reliable in all aspects of work. Maintains a strong work ethic and professionalism in all settings.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities. Demonstrated effectiveness in fast-paced environments and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal abilities, including the capacity to work well with team members and maintain a positive, objective outlook in challenging situations.
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to new situations. Thrives under pressure and limited supervision.
- Physically fit and well-groomed, with the ability to work in diverse conditions. Experienced in using ladders from 8 to 32 feet safely in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Flexible and available to work weekends, evenings, overnight shifts, rotating schedules, extended hours, and emergencies as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other industry-related software.
- Constant standing and walking during the shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Frequent kneeling, bending, and pushing/pulling
- Occasional use of ladders, stairs, and ramps
