      Description

      Position Summary:

      The Maintenance Engineer- Facilities plays a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous operation, safety, and efficiency of the physical infrastructure that supports Astemo’s manufacturing processes. The purpose of this position is to ensure manufacturing processes allow the production departments to achieve daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality. This role will support plant operation through maintenance and improvement of facilities related equipment.

      Position Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Maintain vendor relations and drive to improve Facilities equipment thru replacement and updating of current equipment: 40%
      • Maintain Accurate Documentation of Processes and Designs: 20%
      • Provide Engineering Support to Production Departments: 10%
      • Schedule and Coordinate Timely Preventive Maintenance of Equipment: 10%
      • Work with New Model Engineering to Ensure New Equipment Meets Specifications: 10%
      • Identify Cost-Savings and Quality Improvement Projects in Area: 10%

      Qualifications

      Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • Minimum of 4 years related work experience
      • Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties
      • Knowledge of CNC, PLC

      Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

      • 2 year College Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or other Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent of work related experience.
      • Working knowledge of Facilities related equipment.

      Skills and Abilities:

      • Ability to promote and carry out the “Astemo Philosophy” and “5 Joys”
      • Proven ability to make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy
      • Confers with and prepares reports for upper management and possibly other Keihin companies
      • Develops and controls department or corporate budgets and approves expenditures
      • Maintains clean and orderly work environment
      • Provides strong leadership to subordinate personnel
      • Interacts with various levels of associates
      • Improves manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives
      • Maintains knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment
      • Coordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization needed

      Safety and Environmental Management:

      • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
      • Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

      Software:

      • Basic experience required in MSWord, Glovia, PLC, and AutoCAD
      • Intermediate experience required in Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint
      • Intermediate experience with MSWord, PLC, and AutoCAD preferred
      • Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint preferred

      Essential to Job Functions – Physical and/or Mental Restrictions:

      • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
      • Full Motor Skills

      Work Environment – Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc.
