Until Filled Title of Position: Maintenance Helper
Primary Job Functions: To assist and learn maintenance functions from other staff maintenance personnel.
Salary Lane: GRCAM - Hourly pay starting at $22.75.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Assigned Workday Calendar: 260-261 days (Full Calendar Year)
Job Status: Full-Time – 40 Hours per Week
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Benefits: Full-time positions are eligible for medical, dental insurance as well as supplemental benefits such as vision, life insurance, disability, etc. Eligible for PERF Retirement.

Qualifications:
• Educational Requirements: High school diploma. Technical training desirable.
• Possess Skills and Knowledge: In the maintenance fields of electricity, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, carpentry, masonry, glass replacement, small engines, equipment repair and other general maintenance. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Experience: No formal experience required, but practical experience is of value. One must possess a willingness to accept instructions and guidelines in the maintenance process.
• Certification: None is required, but it should be a goal to attain certification in a variety of maintenance areas.
• Other: A desire to perform the very best of one's capabilities, and to eliminate cost to the corporation. Qualifications and the ability to learn the position of maintenance mechanic. Must be conscientious, punctual and dependable. Must have a telephone and be willing to accept emergency calls at any hour.
Essential Functions:
• Be willing and able to assist maintenance mechanics as needed.
• Be willing and able to assist groundskeeper as requested.
• Be willing to assist or fill in for absent custodians.
• Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students.
• Project a genuine care and concern for all students.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
