  An Entry-Level Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair work to ensure the proper functioning of machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role typically involves basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs across a variety of systems, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical equipment. The position is ideal for someone starting their career in maintenance or facilities management, and offers an opportunity for growth and skill development.
  Key Responsibilities:
  1. General Maintenance:
     • Perform basic repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
     • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctions.
     • Assist in performing preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts.
  2. Facility Upkeep:
     • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the building and surrounding areas.
     • Ensure that equipment and tools are properly stored and maintained.
     • Perform minor painting, drywall repair, and other general upkeep tasks.
  3. Troubleshooting and Repair:
     • Identify and diagnose issues with machinery, equipment, and systems.
     • Collaborate with senior maintenance staff or contractors for more complex repairs.
     • Report any major issues or hazards to supervisors for resolution.
  4. Record Keeping:
     • Document maintenance and repair activities, including work orders and completed tasks.
     • Track inventory of supplies and parts for timely reordering.
     • Update maintenance logs and reports regularly.
  5. Safety Compliance:
     • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks.
     • Report any unsafe working conditions or equipment issues.
     • Assist in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  Skills and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to handle lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some technical training or certification may be preferred but not required).
  Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or on-call shifts if required.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.
