High school graduation and four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade; OR equivalent education/experience
A CDL and Pesticide license will be required to maintain employment.
Be able to work at heights (up to 150 ft)
Experience in operating various tractors, loaders, forklifts, heavy equipment, and trucks
Experience in irrigation and operating irrigation equipment.
Willing to work in adverse (cold, hot, wet, sloppy & smelly, etc)
Have farming and/or ranching experience
Be a self-starter
Able to work longer hours when necessary
Be familiar with varies types of farm animals and their behaviors

Summary of Duties:
Repair/replace parts on equipment and facilities at all centers for the Animal Science department. Be able to do carpentry, plumbing, welding, sheet metal, masonry, etc. Design and build from scratch special tools, equipment, and parts (involving wood, metal, electrical, hydraulics, etc.). Perform irrigation duties to farmland and pastures. Pumping, and agitating animal waste lagoons, lying out 6" hose, and operate a big gun and reel.

Monthly Salary:
Range 47G | $4,602.00 - $5,341.00 (Step G-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
