      This is where YOU fit in: Navy Lodge Moffett is in need of a Maintenance Mechanic to answer the call; a team player dedicated to supporting our local Naval community and operational successes on a day-to-day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which involve the upkeep and repair of the Lodge facility. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families.

      So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

      • Performs various maintenance tasks involving construction and alteration repairs of NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) buildings and equipment.
      • Conducts preventative maintenance and takes periodic inventory of maintenance stock and equipment.
      • Performs general carpentry, painting, plumbing tasks & electrical work involved in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings or equipment including HVAC.
      • Follows all local safety regulations and informs supervisor of hazardous conditions.
      • Operates a motor vehicle in the performance of the duties.

      The Qualifiers:

      • Three years specialized experience involving trade associated with occupations such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, etc.
      • Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties.
      • Is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring or uncomfortable positions.
      • Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
      • Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
      • Must possess a valid state driver's license and pass a pre-employment criminal & motor vehicle background check.
      • HazMat training required within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.

      This is a flex position; scheduled for less than 20 hours per week on a typical work week.

      GENERAL EXPERIENCE: One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general maintenance practices involving the upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment, etc.

      SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.

      SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Three years of general maintenance work involving a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting, etc. Including knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, chemicals, and basic safe work practices.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds. A recognized professional certification or license in one trade (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or painting) is preferred.
