      This position is located at Seward Military Resort.

      Selected candidate will be required to reside in Seward, Alaska within 30 days of appointment as this is a year-round position. Housing may be provided on a space available basis.

      Duties


      • Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of related work operations or functions.
      • Possess strong troubleshooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
      • Monitor team member’s performance to include, but not limited to, quality control, providing supervision, providing professional development/training and delivering recognition and reward.
      • Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines. Maintains balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers and other resources.
      • Determines equipment, supplies, and maintenance required. Assures arrival of supplies and equipment at work site as needed.

      Requirements

      • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
      • A one year probationary period may be required.
      • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
      • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
      • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally 50 to 70 pounds with and without assistance.
      • This position will be required to work weekends, holidays and various shifts of work.

      Qualifications


      • Progressively responsible work experience in hospitality engineering and facilities maintenance performing leader or supervisory duties.
      • Must be well-organized with attention to detail.
      • Must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
      • Must have the ability to read blueprints and schematics; a strong working knowledge of all major building systems and tracking orders; Universal Refrigerants Certification; and a willingness to work different shifts as business dictates.
