JOB SUMMARY

Initially, the Apprentice will be expected to learn the trade while attending classes to become a Journeyman. Further, the incumbent’s primary responsibility will be the maintenance and repair of production equipment to maintain a zero downtime status. The person in the position will be able to safely disassemble, reassemble, and install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. Albany International also offers benefits including tuition reimbursement and a clean climate controlled work environment. The scheduled shift is a 4 shift/4 week rotation that includes the traditional first shift (two weeks), third shift, and a scheduled weekend shift (Thursday night thru Saturday night 6pm-6am, or Friday thru Sunday 6am-6pm) with six scheduled days off between the third shift and weekend shift. The 36 hour scheduled weekend shift will receive 40 hours pay.
SAFETY AND PROCEDURES
· Follow all safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job
· Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role
· Attend and participate in all assigned safety training, safety meetings, audits and Behavior Based Safety programs
· Report all safety hazards observed and work with fellow team members and/or Safety Team members to resolve the issue
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Periodically inspect equipment
· Advise management of equipment hazards
· Perform maintenance work on all plant wide production equipment including but not limited to lubrication, repair, PM, modification, etc…
· Align machines and equipment utilizing the proper equipment and tools
· Work on process improvement upgrades
· Participate on various department groups and committees
· Act as a respectful member of the Maintenance Team
· Observe mechanical devices in operation using PDM tools
· Fabricate guarding, rails and other needs to enhance production

· Troubleshoot and repair production equipment while following standard safety practices.
· Plan and implement preventative and predictive mechanical maintenance programs
· Proficient in machinery troubleshooting
· Good attendance required
· Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis
· Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge of plant equipment
· Must be proficient with the MS Office suite
· Must be able to rotate shifts
· Keep neat orderly records
· Assist with ordering mechanical spare parts
Experience:
Preferred: Aptitude test score of 60% or higher, knowledge of shop equipment/tools, Industrial manufacturing maintenance experience
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma x College diploma r Bachelor Degree r Masters degree r
