Works under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, Shift Supervisor or lead engineer. Makes needed repairs to maintain the property operation and responds to all guest complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid guest inconvenience or discomfort. Becomes thoroughly familiar with all phases of operation and maintenance necessary to operate and repair all water heaters, pumps and plumbing. Performs all repairs, maintenance, and replacement of parts for preventative maintenance schedule to ensure that equipment longevity, and accurately record all pertinent data. Continually assess the preventative maintenance schedule to ensure that equipment longevity, avoidance of repairs and down time, ease of operation, and efficiency are all being maximized pursuant to manufacturers recommendations. Becomes familiar with all Local, State, and NEC and standard as they apply. Installs new equipment and systems as directed. Performs weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual preventative maintenance on equipment. Assumes responsibility for training lesser-trained personnel in the building’s electrical equipment and systems. Maintains tools and maintenance equipment. Ensures that all established rules, regulations, policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. Performs all other duties that may be assigned by the Facilities Manager or other authorized supervisors. Develops a positive working relationship with internal guests through open communication and timely and accurate job completion. Minimal absenteeism / tardiness.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Interacts with outside contractors and vendors as required. Formulates Bill of Materials to accomplish tasks. Systematically prepares to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts, and materials are available and tasks can be accomplished efficiently and safely.
TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECT SUPERVISION OF OTHER ENGINEERS:
Exceeds management’s expectation in the performance of current position. Demonstrates full understanding of the Team’s standard operating procedures as well as the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices. Demonstrates a willingness to accept and an ability to perform in leadership roles. Shows initiative in solving problems while seeking supervisory guidance as necessary. Displays good judgement and an ability to make decisions that are in the best interest of the organization and its guests. Performs with an overall understanding of the mission and operation of the organization and Engineering’s critical role in this environment. Possesses a positive “team" work ethic. Effective in completing work timely, accurately, and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Completion and proof of technical training (QE-Qualified Employee), mechanical knowledge, industrial mechanical knowledge, basic electricity, basic plumbing knowledge, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Field experience – 2 years, Commercial experience – 1 ½ years. Work experience on low voltage systems. Field experience in maintenance and repair of industrial or heavy machinery equipment.
