      Job Purpose

      Responsible for performing job duties associated with maintaining, repairing and improving manufacturing equipment and plant utility systems.

      Key Responsibilities

      Key Objectives/Principal Accountabilities
      • Repair and perform preventative maintenance on belts, piping, filters, mixers, valves, bearings, mechanical seals and pumps.
      • Troubleshooting and proof testing of equipment as necessary to solve problems and pro-actively prevent them.
      • Technical requirements include a solid electrical background to include PLC ladder logic troubleshooting, 480 volt 3 phase, maintenance of power systems through standard instrumentation. 4 – 20 milliamp current loops.
      • Ability to install, test and maintain control devices, pressure-sensing units, and flow measuring devices.
      • Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair Allen Bradley PLC’s and install, test and maintain process motor control systems.
      • Ability to work from detailed technical documents, blueprints, schematics etc.
      • Basic welding and fabrication skills
      • Basic understanding of HVAC, boiler systems, compressed air systems and basic pipe fitting.

      Duties and Responsibilities Related to Universal and Hazardous Waste Management
      • Responsible for the proper collection of hazardous waste
      • Responsible for proper collection of universal waste
      • Responsible for the proper marking, labelling and closure of hazardous and universal waste containers
      • Responsible for immediately contacting the Emergency Coordinator in the event of discovering or causing a leak or spill

      Duties and Responsibilities Related to Process Safety Management (PSM)
      • Responsible for following all PSM related policies, procedures and work instructions
      • Responsible for following all Emergency Action Plans
      • Responsible for participation in process and batch improvement activities
      • Responsible for participation in Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) determination and completion
      • Responsible for participation in Management of Change (MOC), Incident Investigation, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR) and other safety related committees and teams

      Job Requirements

      • 5 – 7 years experience in mechanical maintenance and or related skilled trades. Two years of technical training with state of the art maintenance practices preferred.
      • Proven experience using basic hand tools and power hand tools; as well as an ability to present continuing recommendations for plant and process improvement.
      • Ability to read, interpret and understand technical documents and drawings of plant equipment.
      • Ability to work independently
      • Position will require ability to perform confined space entry, work at heights, lifting and manual labor.
      • Basic PC skills and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel software.
      • High School degree or equivalent

      Training Required
      • Life Saving Rules - annual
      • Hazardous Waste Training – annual
      • Universal Waste Training – annual
      • Process Safety Management – annual
      • Forklift Training – every 3 years
      • Other training as determined

      Starting Pay $28.00 hourly with $1.00 shift differential. Progression (pay for skill) pay plans.
