Diagnosing and repairing the cause of equipment malfunctions including but not limited to pumps, valves, actuators, gearboxes, compressors, fans, engines, piping, tubing, and all other mechanical equipment operated on site.
Completing work orders safely, efficiently, and effectively to maintain mechanical systems and components of the plant.
Utilizing CMMS (Maximo) to document all aspects of work as required.
Conducting comprehensive analysis into mechanical component and system issues and resolves issues practically and effectively.
Installing new mechanical equipment, as required.
Performing Contractor/Vendor oversight as required.
Submit and request work permits for own work / Contractors brought to site to support assigned Work Orders
Performing Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) and closing out PM Work Orders.
Book any spare parts out of inventory required to complete assigned Work Orders.
Organize and track list of assigned Work Orders and PM’s
Be available for call in maintenance support for emergency repairs
Support the facility during planned seasonal outages
Seeking out cost-effective means of completing tasks while prioritizing safety.
Providing technical input into the improvement and optimization of plant systems and processes.
Pursues proactive measures for maintaining plant reliability.
Driving innovation in the maintenance team's work structure and procedures.
Providing solutions to technical and team issues in spite of barriers that may exist.
Performing capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Initiating purchase requisitions and performing inventory management activities as necessary.
Participating and contributing to safety programs and initiatives.
Instilling zero risk to themselves and co-workers regarding HSE.
Accurately assessing the risk of equipment deficiencies to plant reliability.
Redlining drawings as required.
Creating and maintaining effective relationships among team and other groups in the plant.
Collaborating with other teams and departments to efficiently resolve complex issues.
Keeping operations staff on shift fully advised of unusual conditions and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations.
Completed High School Diploma.
Completed Technical Diploma or degree in relevant engineering studies.
Completed Journeyperson Trade Certification as an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright.
5 years’ experience in an industrial/power industry setting as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
Experience with Maximo corrective maintenance management system or equivalent CMMS.
Experience with Siemens and GE turbines is preferred.
Experience in welding and pipefitting is an asset.
Experience in shaft alignment is favored.
Experience in rigging and signaling is preferred.
Able to demonstrate journeyman-level knowledge in mechanical field.
Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
Able to operate industrial equipment (forklift, lull, or manlift) as required.
Reads, understands and complies with all regulatory and facility safety procedures.
Reads and understands Piping & Instrumentation Drawings and Isometric Drawings.
Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of mechanical preventive maintenance procedures.
Able to utilize resources efficiently and effectively.
Able to manage small projects effectively.
Heavy industrial facility designated as a safety sensitive location.
Physical mobility and ability to use PPE required. Consists of walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
Typical shifts are 4 – 10H Days, however, must be willing to work a 12H rotating shift as needed.

Wage Range: $57.24 per hour.
Hours of Work: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Please note: The compensation for this opportunity is based on entry level tradesperson rates, however we may consider a higher rate for applicants with more experience.
As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug test is required.
Clearance of a pre-employment medical will also be required.
