- Operates a variety of equipment including, but not limited to; edger, weed eater, shovel, hand-held sprayers, chainsaw, leaf blower, mower, demolition saws, hammers, and drills.
- Performs pre-trip and daily inspections to assigned equipment or vehicle; checks brakes, lights, belts, hoses, fluid levels, air pressure, etc., reports equipment or vehicle service, maintenance, or repair needs to immediate supervisor. Records inspections and routine service log.
- Performs minor maintenance on equipment and safety devices.
- Assist operations with loading gravel and other materials onto dump trucks.
- Assists crew leaders with maintaining accurate inventory of tools, parts, and equipment.
- Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment; assists in cleaning vehicles and other equipment.
- Assists with loading, unloading, and moving equipment in and around job sites and storage yard.
- Performs job site safety procedures to set up and maintain safe work space at all times.
- May oversee area of responsibility with limited supervision.
- Performs related job duties as assigned.
- Assists with the repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Paints buildings and course signs as needed.
- Aerates grasses.
- Changes greens cups.
- Moves tee markers.
- Maintains ball washers.
- Mows city parks and median islands.
- Assist with upkeep of equipment repair, organization of work shop, tools and parts inventory.
- Assist with maintenance and operation of drainage, irrigation and other mechanical watering systems.
- Spreads granular materials using walking push spreaders.
- Trims shrubbery; prunes and removes trees.
- Plants and maintains trees, grass, shrubs and flowers in landscaped areas.
- Mows park grounds.
- Assists with the opening and closing of graves.
- Assists with the installation of footstones and monuments.
- Erects and dismantles tents.
- Assists the public in the location of grave sites.
- Repairs sunken graves and footstones.
- Assists in tamping, seeding and strawing lots.
- Plants, prunes, trims, sprays and waters trees and shrubs.
- Picks up trash and debris.
- Cleans mausoleum breezeway and chapel.
- Mows cemetery grounds.
- Cleans storm drains and catch basins.
- Weed eatsor mows ditches and retention ponds.
- Assists in the installation of drain pipes.
- Assists in the repair or replacement of elements of the storm drainage system and surrounding areas including removal and replacement of fences, landscaping, etc.,
- Assists with pouring and finishing concrete.
- Performs flagging duties associated with work zone traffic control.
- Clears blockages in stormwater conveyances.
- Plants trees, grass, shrubs and flowers in landscaped areas.
- Blows leaves from sidewalks, parking lots and sidewalks.
- Performs tree trimming, pruning, and removal of limbs and debris.
- Empties trash containers and picks up trash.
- May assist in the application of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers.
- Clears ditches along roadways
- Assists with tree trimming, pruning and removal.

- Performs flagging duties associated with work zone traffic controls.
- Assists with asphalt and concrete repairs, including but not limited to the following: potholes, water cuts, and curbs.
- Assists in maintaining flower beds and medians.
- Assists in special projects for city hosted events or projects.
- Assists in maintaining right of way, city owned lots, and landbank lots.
- Assists with repairs to leaks on water and wastewater service lines, mains, and drainage pipes.
- Assists with patching of street cuts from water and sewer repair work.
- Maintains roads and trails on spray field.
- Performs grounds maintenance duties.
- Performs water and/or wastewater line repairs.
- Performs flagging duties associated with work zone traffic control.
- Employee will be required to be on scheduled “stand-by.” Stand-by is the time an employee shall be available after completing his or her regular work shift, to include weekends and holidays, in which the employee is required to be available for call back to return to work in case of emergency or need. Stand by and call back are both compensable.
The individual in this position will assist with the maintenance and repair activities for City properties, streets and right of ways, water & wastewater distribution and collection systems, storm water systems, landscape and concrete operations, and the equipment used in fulfilling such.
