      Job Description:

      This closely supervised position is a general labor position that will involve pipeline/terminal maintenance activities. This description should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by an incumbent in this position. Incumbents are required to perform other related functions as assigned.

      •Perform all job functions safely while complying with safety rules, procedures, and policies.
      •Perform pipeline right-of-way activities, such as pipeline locates, respond to State One Call notifications, read pipeline alignment sheets, communicating with landowners, contractors, and other agencies.
      •Perform routine facility inspections, housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
      •Assist pipeline specialist and maintenance crews on local projects.
      •Operate and maintain light duty vehicles, hand tools and power equipment.
      •Support pipeline activities as described in the standard operation manual.
      •Assist in emergency response activities as required.
      •Use of computers and windows-based applications required to accomplish day-to-day activities, i.e., e-mail, spreadsheets, and other document processing as needed.
      •Maintain communications via both voice and electronic transmissions with offsite pipeline companies, oil spill vendors, NuStar field locations, Customers, and vendors.
      •Participate in and successfully complete all required personal training including written and computer-based testing to validate competency and be able to successfully pass random DOT drug screens.

      Requirements:

      • High School diploma or equivalent.
      • At least 1 year of experience in the petroleum transportation industry or related.
      • Experience performing construction maintenance and in-service maintenance on pipeline.
      • Knowledge of fabrication of pipe.
      • Knowledge of welding and ability to perform hot tie-ins.
      • Verbal and written English communication skills.
      • CDL preferred.
      • Well organized, self-motivated and safety oriented.
      • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.
      • Able to accommodate overnight travel.
      • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license, pass DOT physical, and background check.
      • Possess ability and desire to grow with the position.
      • Ability to operate facility systems including computer systems and calculators, radios, cellular phones, and GPS Units.
      • Familiarity with hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, saws, cutters, sand blasters, hammers, pliers, shovels, and painting hardware. Line locator equipment; operate 4x4 mule or other off-road vehicles.
      • Familiarity with explosion meter, oxygen meter, toxic gas tester, personal floatation device, and respirator.
      • Familiarity with pipeline maintenance & line locations.
      • 80% travel is expected.

      This position will require an individual to hold a valid driver’s license.

      This position will require an individual to hold a TWIC card.

      When a higher-level position exists candidates with greater qualifications may be considered for the position.
