      About the Role:

      At Courtyard by Marriott Jonesboro, AR the Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the physical infrastructure within a financial services environment. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to support uninterrupted business operations. The technician will work closely with facility management and other departments to identify maintenance needs and implement effective solutions promptly. By maintaining a safe and functional workplace, the Maintenance Technician I contributes directly to the overall productivity and compliance standards of the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to facility upkeep, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
      • Experience with general maintenance tasks in a commercial or industrial setting.
      • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
      • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or HVAC systems.
      • Experience working in a financial services or office building environment.
      • Familiarity with building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
      • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance related to facility maintenance.
      • Basic welding or carpentry skills.

      Responsibilities:

      • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
      • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, including electrical panels, lighting systems, and building automation controls.
      • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations to minimize downtime and maintain a safe environment.
      • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
      • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

      Skills:

      The Maintenance Technician I utilizes technical skills daily to inspect, diagnose, and repair various building systems, ensuring continuous operation and safety. Electrical and mechanical knowledge is applied to troubleshoot issues efficiently and perform preventive maintenance that reduces equipment downtime. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members, vendors, and management to prioritize tasks and report on maintenance status. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems helps in tracking work orders and scheduling maintenance activities systematically.
