Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical skill set, including proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyor systems, and PLC usage.

Responsibilities

• Effectively complete preventive and proactive maintenance per the schedule to prevent breakdowns on equipment.
• Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdowns and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments.
• Serve as the initial responder when a line stops producing and ensure that appropriate mechanical assistance is present to quickly resolve issues using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
• Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize manufacturing downtime.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment, including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary.

Essential Skills

• 3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience, preferably in the food industry.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with conveyor systems.
• Proficiency in electrical maintenance and mechanical repair.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Journeyman Card (not required).
• Previous union experience, preferably with Steel Workers Union.
• Previous food-grade experience.
• Experience with waste water treatment.

Work Environment

This position requires shift flexibility and the ability to work on Crew D, with hours from 7 PM to 7 AM Thursday through Saturday, and half of Wednesday from 1 AM to 7 AM. The environment is clean and requires bringing your own tools. Employees will start with a competitive wage and receive an increase after 90 days.

This is a Permanent position based out of Paw Paw, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
