The opportunity
Our Maintenance Technician roles at Dungeness B Power Station are a unique opportunity to work at a nuclear power station to defuel and decommission our reactors safely and efficiently. We have many years ahead to develop your skills and unique opportunities within the station to make your mark for the future. Our team plays a key part in enabling Dungeness to move into the future with confidence and drive.
We’re looking for technicians from Control & Instrumentation, Mechanical and Electrical backgrounds. You’ll work alongside stakeholders from all across the site, including Work Management, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and our contract partners.

Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £34,641 - £46,963 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. You’ll be entitled to a company pension, annual salary reviews and 28 days annual holiday (in addition to public holidays). As part of our Dungeness B local agreement for our day maintenance teams (which is non-contractual) you will work an additional three hours per week above the contractual 37hrs per week, thereby accruing a total of 156 hours per year. This is added to your annual leave entitlement giving in total up to 9.5 weeks’ time off a year! As a shift worker, you'd receive the associated shift allowance on top of the salary listed above.

Who you are
As minimum, you’ll be educated to GCSE/National Qualifications standards (or equivalent) and holding these qualifications to include “4” and above grade passes in English and Mathematics may be an advantage. Holding a City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a maintenance discipline or time served apprenticeship may be advantageous.
We want you to be excited by the opportunity of maintaining and defueling a power station, with a continuous improvement mindset and a track record of delivering on business plan objectives. You’ll be trained to understand and appreciate why nuclear is special and you’ll be required to demonstrate the highest standards of nuclear professionalism and safety at all times. You should have good practical skills, a basic understanding of technical drawings, proficient IT skills and the ability to work well within a diverse and inclusive team.
