      Job Description

      Responsible for performing both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on equipment. This includes mechanical troubleshooting of hydraulics, ball screw replacement, gear boxes, and rebuilding gear boxes. Electrical troubleshooting involves reading a multimeter, troubleshooting contacts, relays, proximity switches, and photo eyes. Candidates will troubleshoot 3 Phase motors up to 480V and manage the wiring and rebuild of any motor utilized in the plant. Additionally, when not performing repairs, candidates are responsible for preventative maintenance or self-training in robotics troubleshooting using company-provided tools.

      Responsibilities

      • Perform mechanical troubleshooting on equipment including hydraulics, ball screw replacement, and gear boxes.
      • Conduct electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter and troubleshoot contacts, relays, proximity switches, and photo eyes.
      • Troubleshoot and manage the wiring and rebuild of 3 Phase motors up to 480V.
      • Perform preventative maintenance when not conducting repairs.
      • Engage in self-training on robotics troubleshooting using tools provided by the company.

      Essential Skills

      • 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience or heavy equipment experience.
      • 1+ year of electrical troubleshooting experience on 3 Phase Motors 480V, Proximity Switches, contacts, relays, and other motors.
      • 1+ year of hydraulic troubleshooting.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Knowledge of PLC's/ladder logic or ability to read inputs/outputs.

      Work Environment

      The position operates on a rotating shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with workdays on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and off days on Wednesday and Thursday. Training takes place on the first shift and can last between 3-9 months. The work environment is a non-temperature-controlled automotive manufacturing plant, which can become extremely hot during the summer. The pace is fast, and work is highly monitored to maintain efficiency.

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Indiana.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
