      Description

      The Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. Work involves primary responsibility for proficiency in several trades, working independently (on-call if necessary) according to location and nature of assignments orally through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams as directed by the Lead Maintenance Technician.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Repairs doors, doorframes, windows/frames, interior trim/molding and furniture.
      • Responsible for painting the interior of all buildings. Performs light masonry work in connection with buildings.
      • Installs electric circuits, wall plugs and lighting fixtures and switches.
      • Performs minor roof repairs; installs flashing and spouting.
      • Repairs and makes adjustments to laundry washing and drying equipment.
      • Performs all repair work on buildings including overall maintenance, light plumbing, cosmetic work as needed.

      Qualifications


      Minimum qualifications include:

      High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of methods, materials tools and practices used in at least two of the buildings, electrical or mechanical trades. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade involved. Be proficient in the care and use of tools and equipment used in all of trades involved. Have the ability to interpret and work from sketches and diagrams. Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff effectively.
