      Status: Full-time, non-exempt

      Wheaton Bible Church is looking for a Maintenance Technician to be responsible for performing daily and preventative maintenance on the main campus of Wheaton Bible Church and related properties.

      Responsibilities
      • Maintain the value, operating efficiency, and physical appearance of the campus.
      • Create and manage assigned work order tickets with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
      • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance of building systems and associated equipment, utilizing the campus CMMS.
      • Primary role includes General exterior maintenance/upkeep/landscaping including care of interior plants, maintain all WBC vehicles & equipment, door and related hardware maintenance, keys and locks organization, inventory, and distribution.
      • Perform as secondary roles limited carpentry work, lighting repairs, painting, and general repairs.
      • Maintain storage rooms, shop, shed and other areas in a clean and orderly manner.
      • Monitor and adjust the building automation system as required.
      • Operate and troubleshoot fire panel and alarm systems as required.
      • Support church events, including weekend services and other special events such as conferences, concerts, and holidays. These events may create blackout periods and extended business hours.
      • Aid and support sub-contractors designated to perform installation and/or repair of equipment.
      • Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, power outages, lighting, and HVAC issues.
      • Provide snow removal including shoveling, operating, and maintaining snow removal equipment.
      • Safely utilize heavy equipment, including aerial lifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, and other to service building exteriors and interiors, following proper OSHA procedures.
      • Maintain all equipment within the manufacturer’s guidelines and to industry standards.
      • Actively participate in department and church meetings, both on and off campus.
      • Communicate via email, phone, and in person in a timely and professional manner.
      • Communicate with management regarding material and tool needs.
      • Immediately report major problems to supervisor, verbally or in writing.
      • Present a professional personal appearance, wearing proper attire and personal protective equipment.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Job Requirements
      • Five years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
      • High School Graduate/GED Required.
      • A strong commitment to assisting the ministries of the church in fulfilling their mission and vision.
      • Demonstrated spiritual gifts of helps, encouragement.
      • Possess a servant’s heart and Kingdom perspective.
      • Exhibits strong gifting in the following areas:

      • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to deal with individuals within a wide range of situations.
      • Possess a working knowledge of:
        • Building Automation Systems
        • Computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)
        • The Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
        • Hand tools, power tools, meters and gauges.
      • Possess the ability to:
        • lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum weight of 50 lbs.
        • stand for long periods, kneel, crawl and crouch.
        • work in confined spaces.
        • climb ladders and work at heights of thirty plus (30+) feet.
      • Able to work independently and in a team.
      • Able to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
      • Possess knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
      • Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical materials and manufacturers manuals.
      • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
