- Drive the growth of gross and net revenues for the major giving program.
- Execute and manage a robust Major Gift fundraising plan that supports significant growth in individual giving revenue and long-term sustainability.
- Effectively articulate, verbally and in writing, CSH and CSHF’s history, mission, vision, and programs to potential funding sources.
- As the department grows, provide leadership and management to the major gifts fundraising team members
- Manages a properly balanced portfolio for effective moves management. Track donor communication within Raiser’s Edge to ensure prioritizing individual preferences/passions through relationship based fundraising strategies.
- Work collaboratively with the Individual Team to identify and work with individual donors regarding their estate planning needs. Help to identify planned gift prospects and discuss planned gifts during cultivation and solicitation.
- Represent CSHF and speak to community audiences, organizations, and donors.
- Travel to meet with existing and prospective donors.
- Establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively with CSHF and CSH Boards and staff working cross channels to garner new donors.
- Evaluate the Major Gift fundraising program to identify continuous improvement opportunities and efficiencies.
- Provide monthly and quarterly revenue projections and forecasting.
- Manage overall trends in giving and identify trends in current database with regards to forecasting for ROI reporting.
- Communicate status of projects, findings, and trends to Director, Individual Giving.
- Maximize potential of self and future subordinates by supporting professional growth
- Assume other tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
- Minimum of five years of progressive fundraising experience working with individuals and family foundations, and events.
- Experienced at effectively developing and stewarding long-term relationships with individual funders and internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management experience with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to make strong, credible presentations, communicate the ‘CSH story’ and demonstrate comprehensive writing skills.
- Excellent and passionate relationship builder.
- Demonstrated outstanding communication skills.
- The ability to network and be dynamic, persuasive and very comfortable interacting with major donors and high net worth individuals.
- Proven ability to identify new funding opportunities, build an expanding portfolio of individual donors.
- Proven ability to lead and execute site visits for current and potential funders.
- Impeccable writing and editing skills; ability to translate complex ideas into clear, concise, and compelling narratives
- Travel to hospital sites and visiting individual donors and prospects throughout NJ/NY metropolitan area.

What You'll Do:
The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) cis responsible for driving the revenue growth of Major Gifts and works with the Director, Individual & Family Philanthropy to expand the Major Gift program by developing and implementing strategies to cultivate strong relationships and secure philanthropic gifts. Provides expertise and support prospecting, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors. The MGO will be responsible for implementing goals for long-term strategy that supports the Foundation Strategic Plan, Corporate Goals and the Department Annual Plan for program growth. The MGO shall further develop, implement, and maintain a positive and engaging fundraising relationships with constituents to meet financial and in-kind needs of Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation.
The MGO will be a passionate advocate for children’s healthcare and an ambassador for the values and story of Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH) and Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation (CSF) for inside and outside the Foundation.
