      National Grid is hiring a Major Permit Specialist for our NE Permits and Stakeholder Management department in Waltham, MA.

      Our Team

      We manage the permitting and licensing process for complex, capital projects in New England. We build, develop, and maintain internal and external relationships with key stakeholders that support the state siting and permitting processes.

      What You'll Do

      • Provide coordination and oversight over the content of state siting and permitting applications
      • Assist in the preparation of formal petitions before state public utility commissions and state permitting authorities primarily in Vermont, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire
      • Work closely with project team members and consultants to ensure that high-quality siting and permit applications are filed in a timely manner
      • Coordinate the collection of information necessary for these applications
      • Establish and maintain working relationships with regulatory staff and key internal/external stakeholders in the New England jurisdiction
      • Explore opportunities to develop permitting efficiencies
      • Maintain an understanding of Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts siting procedures, regulations, and orders

      About You

      • Bachelor’s degree required
      • Environmental science, public policy, business, management, finance, law, government, economics, engineering degrees preferred
      • Advanced degree preferred
      • 3+ years of experience in the energy industry preferably in environmental regulation, law, project management, siting, permitting, or related field required
      • Valid driver’s license required

      Salary

      $129,000 - $152,000 a year

      This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
