      Position Overview

      This role will work with the wider Finance team to ensure financial reporting accuracy and contribute to an effective internal control environment. The Management Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the company’s finance & accounting functions are properly managed and that all internal and external reporting requirements are met on a timely basis. The role will support broad company initiatives and interact with key internal and external stakeholders.

      Reporting into the Finance Manager , you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, performing comprehensive financial analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. This role involves significant responsibility for the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

      Duties

      • Maintain and update general ledger accounts by ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.

      • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.

      • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, and resolve any discrepancies.

      • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers and depreciation

      • Working with external fiduciaries, support in the production of VAT and other tax returns, and submission to the tax authority

      • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts, explaining any significant differences.

      • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

      • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

      • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.

      • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

      • Ensure the Company’s internal financial control systems, processes and policies are complied with by all parts of the Company’s operations, including supply chain management, purchasing controls, payment authorizations

      • Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial close process.

      Job Requirements

      • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

      • Strong technical accountancy skills

      • Fluency in German is not required but a bonus

      • Ability to work quickly to a high level of accuracy with attention to detail

      • Ability to communicate and build relationships effectively across all areas of the business

      • S elf-starter, ability to work independently, problem solve and drive projects to completion

      • Ability to design and implement new processes, not just work within existing ones.

      • Results driven, ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a fast paced business

      • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, strongly preferred

      • Experience in dealing with issues and problem solve

      • Able to plan, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

      • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers

      • Ability to work on a hybrid basis; 3 days in the office as a minimum
