Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: GS-05
You must have three (3) years of general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
OR
EDUCATION:
Four (4) year course of study leading to a Bachelor's Degree at an accredited college or university in any field of study.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Combination of education and experience equivalent to that described above.

The secretary of the treasury is the principal economic advisor to the president of the United States and plays a critical role in policy-making by bringing an economic and government financial policy perspective to issues facing the federal government. The secretary of the treasury is a member of the United States Cabinet, and is nominated by the president of the United States. Nominees for Secretary of the Treasury undergo a confirmation hearing before the United States Senate Committee on Finance, prior to a vote by the United States Senate.
