Who We Are
SFU’s Political Science Department is a world class place for research, teaching, and community engagement. The Department has 22 full time faculty members engaged in diverse research topics ranging from electoral politics to climate change. The Department boasts several active research groups, including ones on feminist mobilization; clean energy; diversity; diplomacy; and migration. As of 2023, the Dept. had 397 students, including 284 majors and 39 graduate students.
About the Role
The Manager, Academic and Administrative Services is responsible for providing leadership in planning and operationalizing the delivery of academic and non-academic activities of the department. The role ensures the efficient and effective functioning of the unit by developing strategies and plans to achieve objectives and leads ongoing business process improvements. The Manager works in collaboration with senior administration on departmental matters and conducts complex analyses to support strategic decision making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a relevant discipline and five years of related experience in financial administration, operational management, strategic planning, project management, personnel management, faculty affairs and curriculum development, planning and coordination.
