      SUMMARY:

      The Accounting Manager oversees the company's financial and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate financial reports for management use. The incumbent develops, implements, and updates procedures and processes, ensuring the daily functioning of the business and contributes to company policies and practices.

      ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

      • Oversee the monthly general ledger process to ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and in conformance with policies and procedures.
      • Prepare month-end variance analysis to help support financial reporting.
      • Manage all quarterly reviews throughout the year.
      • Maintain and analyze general ledger work papers detailing assets and liabilities to ensure the financial information of Bright MLS is accurate.
      • Prepare financial statements for all board meetings to report a comprehensive overview of the Bright financial status.
      • Direct the preparation of budgets and cost controls as and when required.
      • Provide assistance to staff and management as needed to ensure that business needs are met.
      • Conduct periodic audits to ensure the accuracy of accounting data.
      • Handle all wire transactions and the signing of all vendor checks.

      • Manage all aspects of insurance.

      • Prepare monthly accounting reports to be used by management in presenting to potential Bright MLS shareholders.
      • Process journal entries as required.
      • Prepare and coordinate schedules for annual tax returns, i.e., Income Tax and Property Tax Return on time.
      • Coordinate work with other staff members to support the finance department’s needs.
      • Maintain quality standards to ensure timely reporting of financial information.
      • Develop and implement new accounting procedures and updates to current processes.
      • Lead the integration of new technologies and systems into the accounting workflow.
      • Supervise, guide, and develop the accounting team.
      • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      • An advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and at least 7 years of experience; or a combination of education and experience.
      • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
      • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and experience in preparing financial projections required.
      • Strong analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required .
