      Location: 100% In-Office Saskatchewan (Regina, Saskatoon, Estevan, Kindersley, Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Tisdale, Yorkton, Weyburn)

      Work hours: Full time, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

      Pay Range: $100,776 - $134,376

      The MANAGER, CLAIMS (INJURY) is responsible for managing a team of SGI employees that is responsible for injury case management. The Manager provides direction on complex claims and ensures claims are investigated and settled in accordance with applicable insurance legislation, programs, policies, procedures and customer service targets.

      Key Accountabilities

      Claims Management

      • Ensures that customer service is provided in accordance with established claims customer service targets and assists in developing customer service initiatives.

      • Manages the processing, investigation and settlement of claims, ensuring corporate standards and procedures are followed and claims are equitably settled.

      • Collaborates with internal business partners to Investigate and provide input on ministerial and head-office inquiries.

      • Consults with head office/quality control subject matter experts on complex and large value claims.

      • Approves large loss audits and payments.

      • Provides technical guidance, direction and interpretation of legislation, regulations and policies related to injury claims (internally and externally).

      • Receives and resolves escalated customer inquiries.

      • Conducts claims reviews and audits.

      Relationship Management

      • Manages external relationships including agents, brokers, medical and vocational care providers, independent adjusters, law enforcement, ambulance companies, members of the Automobile Injury Appeal Commission and/or medical, legal or expert consultants.

      • Liaises with internal business partners developing and maintaining effective working relationships and communication.

      Corporate Management

      • Ensures programs and policies are in alignment with corporate and divisional strategies.

      • Manages risk in area of authority.

      • Prepares, reviews and/or approves and oversees departmental/divisional budgets; ensures management of budget at appropriate level of leadership.

      • Prepares decision requests, Minister briefing notes, SGI board items, Crown Investment Corporation (CIC) board items and/or cabinet information and decision items.

      • Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility, including development, implementation and managing of program components specific to departmental health and safety requirements.

      • Assists in developing and monitoring divisional plans and objectives, ensuring that they are effectively communicated, understood and executed.

      Education and Experience

      • A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Health, Social Sciences or Business.

      • Eight years’ experience comprised of four years progressively challenging leadership and four years’ experience in a field related to injury or disability claims management.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      • Knowledge of the corporation’s applicable lines of insurance.

      • Knowledge of claims policies and procedures related to the adjustment and settlement of accident benefit and bodily injury claims.

      • Knowledge of, and skill in the interpreting, The Automobile Accident Insurance Act, The Traffic Safety Act and the Snowmobile Act and related regulations.

      • Knowledge of the insurance industry.

      • Knowledge of how financial information contributes to management understanding and decisions.

      • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques required to plan, manage and execute projects.

      • Knowledge of business processes and organizational units and how they interact to achieve the corporate objectives.

      • Leadership skill to lead and execute corporate change through influence, persuasion and consensus building.

      Pay Range:$100,776.00 - $134,376.00
