      The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for the position of Manager of Data Analytics Science . This position functions as the senior statistical and methodological lead of the GRC, providing leadership across research sections while acting as a subject matter expert and principal investigator of select initiatives. The Manager of Data Analytics Science also provides section-specific leadership and management to the GRC’s Informatics d irector and team in coordination with and at the direction of GRC’s research director.

      The GRC engages in applied health services and population health research in a project- based, team setting of over 35 research staff. GRC’s Informatics section currently consists of 12 researchers who specialize in statistical methodology , data visualization, interactive dashboards, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

      The successful candidate will: (1) Provide methodological expertise and leadership across the organization by c ontribut ing to project work as a Principal Investigator, technical expert, and/or team or task lead (2) Lead managers and specialized staff who exercise significant independence in assignments, and may also manage front-line supervisors; (3) d esign and implement studies, analyze data, and publish results from research projects; (4) c ollaborate as co-investigator and assist in developing objectives, designing sampling, randomization schemes, and data collection procedures; ( 5 ) coordinate Informatics section activities such as hiring and project assignments; (6) provide subject matter expertise in survey design and estimation, statistical disclosure avoidance, and causal inference; (7) contribute to new project development; (8) develop and implement research policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals and support operational strategy; (9) assist in leadership activities across GRC’s organization; and (10) frequently interact with stakeholders concerning projects, operational decisions, influencing others outside of the immediate area on policies, practices, and procedures to gain cooperation on strategic goals .

      The successful candidate should have substantial technical expertise and experience in statistical methodology , data visualization, interactive dashboards, GIS, biostatistics. Relevant domains include population health, substance use disorder, maternal and infant health, Medicaid claims analysis, electronic health records, and quality improvement methods for healthcare. The successful candidate should have expertise in R and familiarity with R-Shiny , Tableau, Python, SQL, SAS, STATA, ArcGIS, Docker, and Git.

      Experience and Education:

      Required:

      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

      • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with evidence of increasing responsibility

      • Supervisory experience

      Preferred:

      • Doctoral degree in a relevant field of study

      12 years of relevant experience

      Experience as a Principal or Co-Principal Investigator

      • Residency in the State of Ohio or willingness to relocate upon employment
