      Position Summary

      The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for ensuring that employee relations issues and investigations involving the company's nine plant locations and corporate offices are managed and addressed in accordance with the company's values and purpose. This function ensures that corporate policies, processes, and legal requirements are followed consistently in order to promote a positive and inclusive work environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in employee interactions, conflict resolution, and labor law compliance.


      Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Manage and lead employee relations activities for the company by working with Senior leadership to develop strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee relations and fostering a positive work environment.
      • Provide guidance, training and support to leaders and others on employee relations related topics.
      • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training to promote positive employee relations.
      • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, , disciplinary matters, and respond to employment-related claims. Collaborate with others as necessary.
      • Advise management on necessary compliance actions to ensure compliance with employment related laws and regulations,
      • Develop, monitor and report on employee relations metrics and trends to develop proactive improvement strategies.
      • Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and industry best practices .
      • Manage the company's ethics hotline, serving as the primary point of contactand ensure follow-up for timely closure and resolution.
      • Subject to the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Ajinomoto Food’s HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures, assisting the Ajinomoto Food health plan with dayto-day activities involving protected health information, including but not limited to, assisting with employee claims, coordinating benefits, determining health claim status, determining eligibility for coverage, budgeting and renewal, billing and collection activities, obtaining assistance from third-parties for plan functions, and any other duties delegated by the HIPAA Privacy or Security Officer.

      Position Qualifications

      • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. or equivalent professional experience.
      • 7 years of experience in employee relations, collective bargaining experience preferred.
      • Professional certifications (SPHR, PHR) are highly desirable.
      • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
      • Proven ability to effectively manager and prioritize multiple investigations simultaneously.
      • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
      • Ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
      • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
      • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities , with the capacity to handle complex employee relations issues.
      • Experience using an HR information system and proficient in MS Office Suite.
      • Range $135,000 to $145,000
